If you are reading this on our launch day, Wednesday April 1st, 2009, then you are probably wondering:

Is this real, or is this a joke?

I am very pleased to answer:

Yes!

This is very, very real.  Although Alan and I sincerely hope you smiled when you saw the site, this is not just a simple one-day wacky April Fool's Day gag.  You can read about the legacy of the legendary Slaughter Realms series by clicking on the History page, and as of today you can read the prologue to Iroquois Vengeance by clicking on the link in the upper right corner of the page.  We hope you enjoy it, and much more importantly we hope that you will continue to come back and read each chapter of the book as it unfolds.

This story is unlike any other I have read.  A little bit of the post-apocalyptic genre, a healthy dollop of horror, and of course the dangerously hot Iroquois Ninja Princess.

And here's a little secret:  you haven't even met my favorite character yet.  I am sure he will make his leafy presence known very soon.

So please pull up a chair, have a good read, and if you like what you read please pass it along to your friends.  Post here on our forums and tell us what you think.  We have great things in store, and would be delighted to have you come along for the ride!

Shmooby,

Glad you like the site. Thanks for the pat on the back.  Have you read the Prologue, yet?  Will you ever eat corn on the cob again?

AP,

When Ron showed me the pages last night, he knew when I got to the corn part.

"EWWWWWW!,,, *giggles*"

I love the start, I don't know if the story ever picks back up during this time period, because now I'm concerned about these people living in the bunker and what they had to do to survive.

Words cannot describe how devastated I was when Alan announced that he had delivered the big kiss-off to GE. I have adored Mr. Philipson's creative genius since the days of SOBs. I love, love, love Daniel Desipio and I'm overjoyed that Alan has decided to hook us up with Daniel's last manuscript! As Ron says, "Stalk this."

Cool! Enjoyed the prologue and looking forward to more. Do need to fix the page, though, as half the text is off on the right side and I had to hilight it to be readable. Or maybe its my PC...

Strange.  Do you mind telling me what browser and version you are using?

No doubt about it, Dan Desipio was a giant of the subgenre. It’s a great honor to have been entrusted with the task of scraping the tropical fungus from his prose, and reconstructing meaning and drama from paragraphs obscured by coffee stains and unidentifiable smears. (Although I can’t be certain, I strongly suspect a mouse gave birth on Pages 234-257.) I am truly humbled by this opportunity to help Pulp Devil Press present the presumed-lost Iroquois Vengeance to Dan’s ever-faithful fans.

More is on the way. Hope the readability issue has been resolved. Thanks for posting.

Thanks so much for posting on MB.com.  I share in your excitement about finding something that's been lost, restoring it is just exhilarating when you are so passionate about something, in RM and APs case writing.   Best of luck to the two of you in your new endeavors (ex-GE).

IV Prologue - I'm hooked and waiting for more.  I want to learn more about the woman warrior, what drives her to be able to slaughter seemingly emotionless.  It reminds me of The Mummy (2) movie where she has visions and then she becomes the warrior.

What can I say about the freakish human-plant-animal mutations - go ahead make my skin crawl

Terry,
thanks for your kind words. Alan tells me he is just about done clearing away the slime mold from the pages of chapter one. He also mentioned something about a "brain in a jar", so I know we are all looking forward to Friday night when the next chapter is revealed....

Oooh soggy brains!  I hope you took pictures of the documents before you started restoration.  That in itself sounds horrific.  I was so excited about the prologue I told my daughter about it and she wrinkled her nose when I told her about the corn.  I asked her to draw it for me.

Whoa! Thank you BAR0426!  Some great ideas there. We'll definitely have to post some "before restoration" manuscript pages. And maybe after a few more chapters of Iroquois Vengeance go up, we can sponsor a "draw your favorite SR mutie" or "your favorite SR human character" contest. Post all the contest entries on the site.

What do you think, Ron? Sound like fun?
